insert more than two media categories/types for logical volumes

Today there are only two media categories available for defining logical volumes in an IBM VTS - Media Type Cartidge System Tape and Enhanced Cartridge. But you can define the volumes as 400MB, 800MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 25GB in the library. Since we bill our customers based on volume size, it would be good to be able to define more than two media categories for logical volumes. It is then also easily possible to assign volume ranges of different sizes for different applications (e.g. DFSMShsm Backup (6 GB), Migration (1 GB) and Dump (25 GB)). If there are several media categories, the size of the volumes can be easily assigned in the SMS ACS routines.

In my opinion, some of the currently defined categories are deprecated and can be reused for logical volumes/categories
