copy export for z/VM

We mutualize our TS7700 with our clients.

When a client requires to use it, we would like to export our data to give him a TS7700 we can clean up for his standalone restore. Then be able to restore our data when he has finished his exercice.

Hi Mildred, that's a good news ! just want to know if at the end of a export, the database and the config of the TS77 is copied at the end of the tape, like it is done under z/OS ?

    Thanks

This appendix describes how to use the COPY_EXPORT support with the Removable Media Service (RMS) component of DFSMS/VM. APAR VM65789 provides support within the Removable Media Services (RMS) component of DFSMS/VM for the IBM Virtualization Engine TS7700 Copy Export functionality. COPY_EXPORT allows a copy of selected logical volumes written to the TS7700 to be removed and taken offsite for disaster recovery purposes. The benefits of volume stacking, which places many logical volumes on a physical volume, are retained with this function. In addition, since the data being exported is a copy of the logical volume, the logical volume data remains accessible by the production host systems.
