TS4500 improve Remote Authentication (LDAP, RACF) support for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi-factor authentication is a major component of security policies in many companies. TS4500 supports remote authentication with MFA when used with Duo (authentication proxy). However, this client has already invested in an MFA infrastructure that works with other IBM products and does not require an additional authentication proxy. In this environment, user passwords can only be used once, before a new password is generated. TS4500 performs multiple binds to an authentication server for each login which makes it incompatible in this type of MFA setup. An idea for improvement is for TS4500 to perform only one bind per user password during user authentication using LDAP or RACF.
