Defining a logical library with only cartridge slots but without tape drives

The evolution request on the IBM TS4300 tape library is to have the possibility of defining a logical library with only cartridge slots but without tape drives.

This improvement would allow to have an active logical partition which enables cartridges to be moved into a secured and isolated tapes partition with no network connectivity and unknow to all applications into the physical tape library. This would provide for an air-gapped copy of the data that is also protected against human error.

Similar functionality is available on the IBM enterprise Library TS4500 and is promoted by IBM as "safeguarded tape". In times of massive amounts of cyberattacks also to small an medium businesses, it would be an excellent idea to bring this funtionality also to IBMs smaller Tape Library Systems!
