TDMF Message for SOFT FENCE

System: TDMF for z/OS
Actor: User needing change in a message.

TDMF (Transparent Data Migration Facility) is a product that allows the customer to non-disruptively relocate or migrate data within the data center, in periods of full production and demand.

Description: Our team uses TDMF to move data from one device(source) to another device(target) using its non-disruptively capability. TDMF for z/OS at release 5.5 introduces a new function in conjunction with storage controllers DS8870, called SOFTFENCE.
Soft Fence is a hardware feature used by TDMF to enhance data integrity protection for devices that support those functions.
The problem happens when TDMF change device status to SOFTFENCED and do not externalize this to z/OS, TDMF message related to this event is just in TDMF joblog. This message should be extenalized to z/OS joblog and then the automation can take some action.

This will be included in a future release. It's possible it could be the next release, but we cannot commit to that at this time. I will update this later this month or early January with more definitive plans.

Reviewing with team....What kinds of action do you expect automation to take when a device is SOFTFENCEd? The SOFTFENCE option can be overridden by NOSOFTFENCE.
