This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

We've discussed the most appropriate way to fix this, and have determined that allowing the escaping of special characters with a backslash is the right approach. This will work in the code as it is today, but a documentation update will follow later this year.
THank you, we'll look at fixing this defect as soon as possible.
This is not a wild card issue it is an example of the type of filter I wish to use for VOLSER field. I wish to filter in our out all VOLSER with $$* which will show m e all VOLSER's that start with $$. But since $ and # are special characters that are not recognized by the tool it will not allow this filter to work.
if you wish to test this on your system, simply make a few volumes with ## or $$ at the beginning and try searching filtering on those in the groups/application filter. you will be able to filter in the volumes section but NOT the groups application setup.
Information about what wild cards can be used can be found in the IBM Storage Insights Knowledge Center here: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSQRB8/com.ibm.spectrum.si.doc/tpch_saas_r_app_filters.html
