Storage Insights doesn't collect performance data often enough

Storage Insights can collect performance data no more frequently than every minute. Some storage devices, such as Spectrum Virtualize, collect data more frequently than that. Since some performance events take place on the scale of seconds, it is difficult to do historical analysis. Even if the data collection is only run every five minutes, it is possible to get all of the data points available over that minute from, for instance, Spectrum Virtualize.

    Storage Insights today collects data at a 5 minute interval for most storage devices. IBM will be looking into what it takes to reduce the frequency to 1 minute. We accept this as a uncommitted candidate item for our longer term roadmap which means such a function is more than 12 month out in the future

    The first sentence in the description, "Storage Insights can collect performance data no more frequently than every minute," is incorrect. The shortest collection interval is 5 minutes.
