Ability to cancel the offload tape backup with FCM

When a backup process is offloaded to a backup server, it may take several hours. For example with a customer, each offload process takes 8 to 12 hours. At time, we need to cancel it when we try to backup development applications to make sure that when the production application will be backed up, we have enough resources. It is not obviously something that occurs very frequently, but there are situations when the offload backup to started too late, or even when we need the full TSM server resources for an unplanned tape restore.

    Thank you for submitting this request. We understand the requirement but unfortunately at this time we cannot commit delivery of the enhancement in the next year or two. The recommendation for now is to cancel the session from the server side if you really must cancel the backup once it has kicked off to enable backup of development applications. If, after the next release of TSM, you would like this requirement to be re-considered, please resubmit the RFE. Thank you for your commitment to TSM and for your support in moving the product forward.
