IBM Fusion version selection - need a way to access previous version from the Fusion operator

The solution supports an on-premises deployment of IBM Software Hub / Cloud Pak for Data (ISH/CPD) on Red Hat OpenShift (OCP), leveraging IBM Fusion Data Foundation and Backup & Restore services. The deployment consists of both a Production environment and a System Integration Testing (SIT) environment, with each environment utilizing the full stack of interdependent technologies: ISH/CPD, IBM Fusion, and OpenShift.

For ongoing production upgrade testing/verification AND disaster recovery verification, it is mandatory (per IBM’s own documentation) that all products 3 product release versions are internally supported by each other AND consistent between the source (backup) production environment and the disaster recovery verification target (restore) environment.

Thus, it is crucial to be able to select specific product Fusion release versions to maintain these products’ interdependencies.

However, Fusion has a history of being able to only install OR upgrade to the latest version using the ibm-catalog catalogsource/operator as per the official IBM documentation. We have experienced the inability to select specific version in the past and have opened a Case many times to address the issue. The latest version available is not necessarily the version we have verified as being production ready (and supported by all products). And the latest version is almost never the version required during a disaster recovery event.

    The IBM Fusion Operator has an Version select drop-down. Occasionally in the past some historic version were available to install. Unfortunately, recently only the latest IBM Fusion version is available to install.

    It is important to be able to install any IBM Fusion version (within reason) as it must be compatible with other software such as IBM Software Hub/Cloud-Pak-for-Data and OpenShift.
