This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This request is a refresh of SPFUS-I-34 that has existed since Apr 27, 2023. Clients around the globe are asking for Metro DR + Regional DR. The description in this idea is a good start but needs more detail to reflect the technical requirements of what the storage cluster is doing versus the application cluster(s) in this metro + regional topology.
IBM development has documented at lest four potential topologies As of today, we believe topology 1 is available - HCI-1 & HCI-2 are stretched across a metro distance with an added arbiter in metro distance, both storage and application share a single cluster.
The desire is to start with a replica of how ECE worked (Topology 3) where the storage cluster is stretched across HCI-1 + HCI-2 + arbiter and application clusters are independent, non-hosted clusters on HCI-1 or HCI-2.
Recently, clients have been demanding Metro DR w/Hosted Clusters (Topology 2) where the storage cluster is stretched like Topology 3 but the application clusters are hosted clusters.
