Support OpenShift EUS (Extended Update Support) for IBM Fusion HCI

OpenShift EUS provides a stable, long-term support update channel with key advantages:

  • Reduced update frequency (e.g., every 6 months instead of 3)
  • Only one restart of non-control-plane nodes per update
  • Shorter update duration

Currently, IBM does not officially support EUS for Fusion HCI due to lack of testing. However, given its benefits for stability and operational efficiency, IBM should validate and endorse EUS for Fusion HCI environments to align with enterprise customer needs for predictable, less disruptive updates.

Call to Action:
IBM should test, certify, and document OpenShift EUS support for Fusion HCI, allowing customers to adopt this stable update model with confidence.
