Support for IBM Storage Discover for local filesystem in IBM Spectrum Fusion / Fusion HCI deployments

IBM Storage Discover is supposed to be an integrated component of the Spectrum Fusion platform. however Spectrum Fusion HCI does not allow for Storage Discover to scan the local Fusion HCI filesystem.  This defeats the purpose of using Discover to help build AI workflow and Piplelines especially with GPU nodes.

Fix: enhance the Fusion AFM gateway nodes within Fusion HCI deployment to include the requisites for Spectrum Discover to support live events as well as the scale policy engine for high performance filesystem scans. 

The Fusion AFM gateway container pods should include the following:

A Python 3.0 or later with accompanying Python package installer (pip3)

A confluent-kafka version that is greater than or equal to the installed librdkafka version.

 

As a 2nd step the deployment of Storage Discover Operator into a Fusion HCI cluster should give you the ability to search and identify the local filesystem of the RHOCP cluster (either ODF or Scale) and provide a streamlined process for adding this local filesystem for scanning.
