Enable Multi-Select Delete for Backup Jobs in IBM Storage Fusion

In the current version of IBM Storage Fusion, the list of executed backup jobs allows only single-entry interactions. When users need to delete multiple backup jobs, each DeleteBackupRequest must be created individually per job. This is time-consuming and inefficient, especially in environments with frequent backups or large-scale deletion needs (e.g., cleanup of test backups, mass deletion due to retention policy changes, etc.).

Requested Enhancement:

Introduce the capability to multi-select backup jobs via checkboxes in the Fusion user interface. Once selected, users should be able to trigger a batch creation of DeleteBackupRequests for all marked entries. This should:

  • Trigger the appropriate deletion workflow for each backup job (including S3 object removal, metadata cleanup, database purging).
  • Provide a summary view or confirmation before executing the batch deletion.
  • Optionally allow filters (e.g., by age, namespace, status) to pre-select backups before marking them.

Business Justification / Benefits:

  • Efficiency Gain: Reduces administrative overhead and significantly speeds up mass deletion of backups.
  • User Experience: Improves usability and reduces error-prone manual steps.
  • Consistency: Ensures uniform deletion of multiple backups, helping maintain S3 and metadata hygiene.
  • Scalability: Particularly beneficial in large-scale environments or in Dev/Test setups with frequent backup cycles.

Priority:

High (based on operational efficiency and user experience improvements)
