Fusion HCI has pre-requisites for a DNS server / DHCP server to support the build process for a HCI cluster. In addition to which AIR Gap Installations require a local server to provide the repository for the installation content for the cluster. By using the Rack Unit Space that was previously taken up by the KVM switch and replacing it with a custom 1RU server to act as a Jump host / Bastian host we can remove the need for customers to provide this external hardware /simplify the implementation process for the HCI cluster - this could also remove the need for the RU7VM virtual machine, by moving all those roles to the jump host.
