selectable DIO/nonDIO-Support on Storagepools

we are working now in our TSM-Environment with a complete implementation of GPFS as the the filesystem layer for our TSM-Plattfom on AIX and Linux. With the possibility to use many performance function in gpfs we can massively enhance our performance specially in sequentiell processing. GPFS is here great, but with some pools on disk type stg pool we not see these enhancements. The other one we are thinking about to use the GSS-Product here with much more performance possibility. The request here is that the dsmserv.opt parameter directio yes /no is usable in the define stg , update stg cmd''s. This enhancements put some more flexibility, and give a clear roadmap for TSM with the scalability of these FS-Plattform.

This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.
