Request for TSM 6.3.4 support with ACSLS on Oracle Linux

Los Alamos National Laboratory uses Oracle's ACSLS tape library manager with its TSM system. LANL wishes to upgrade to ACSLS 8.3, which runs exclusively on Oracle Linux. LANL is requesting that TSM 6.3.4+ be officially tested/supported for use with ACSLS 8.3 running on Oracle Linux 6.x.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

Two possible alternatives that do not involve adding a new platform to the TSM server support matrix for the customer:
    1. We will be supporting ACSLS 8.3 on Solaris Sparc platforms with 6.3.5 and 7.1.1.

    2. Another alternative would be to use the ACSLS SCSI Medium Changer interface. We haven't tested it on Linux yet and I am checking with Oracle to see if this limitation still exists. It would allow the TSM server to reside on a supported OS while the ACSLS server was hosted on Oracle Linux.

As for Oracle Linux support, please contact your IBM seller for details. They will be able to share our plan for customers under NDA.
