Ensure LAN_FREE when NEXTpool is used

In a situation where a customer sets up a policy so that data may go to 2 different storage pools, and uses the MAXSIZE parameter of a storage pool to determine where data is placed, the ability to access the 2nd storage via LAN_FREE is only determined by the ability of the 1st pool (to do LAN_FREE).

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

Thank you for submitting this request. While we understand the use case and the desirability of a solution, the MAXSIZE parameter is really intended for non-sequential data. The best practice is that the storage pools should have the same attributes all the way through especially when using simultaneous write. At this time there are no plans to implement a solution for the described use cases as this is not in good alignment with strategic directions. If after the next release of the product you would like to have this enhancement request reconsidered, please resubmit your request.
