TSM Server "Define Clientaction" Command Issue

System: TSM Server all versions

Actor: Define Clientaction Command need to be trimmed with "REQUIRED" parameters.

Description: TSM Server, "define clientaction" command is not having any required paramters right now. If we run "define clientaction" with out any parameters like NODENAME/DOMAINNAME, It is executing and creating temporary schedule for all nodes available in TSM Server and this is resulting the actual schedule to missed; Finally it is impacting the Backup Success Rate.

I totally agree on this one.

Having fallen foul of a 'define clientaction' without parameters which resulted in the running of pre- scripts and shutting down apps on mission critical servers.

In one case there was potential for life threatening outcomes. Social workers were unable to determine the threat level and history of people they were visiting for several minutes.

TSM has commands that have little external impact and that mandate multiple parameters and reqyuire a Y/N response to the 'Are you sure' (AYS) prompt.

Define Clientaction which mandates no parameters can, by the use of pre and post sched processing, shutdown production applications and databases at any time.

While we do not need the 'Are you sure' when we supply parameters it is probably the most career limiting command in TSM without parameters and that is the only time we need the AYS prompt
