TDP for SQL parallel backup of Logs to two different managementclasses

With TDp for SQL only allows to backup logfiles only to one location. On other databases such as Oracle, DB2 and even MaxDB it is possible to backup logfiles to two different locations.
It would be helpfull if in the configuration it is possible to specify two different management classes for simultaneously backup to differnt locations.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

Thank you for submitting this request. Unfortunately we will not be implementing a solution in the next year or two. As an alternative, you can use simultaneous write to copy pool capabilities at the TSM server target in combination with TSM node replication to create multiple copies of the backups. If after the next release of TSM you would us to reconsider this request, please resubmit it. We appreciate your input and support in helping us make the products better.

The aim of this request is to be able to store a second copy of a redo-log file on the same TSM-Server but a different managementclass. (as it is possible with Oracle or DB2 for example).

The use case is that Redo-Logs can be stored in two differnet pools at the same time. If one pool has a defect (for whatever reasons) a restore would still be possible without any influence on restore times. It would mean a second layer of backup security.

We are talking about highlevel SAP-Systems which are crucial for customer/company business and success. Lost data can impact the business by a vast amount of money.

Thank you for submitting this request. Unfortunately there is not information provided regarding the use case and business justification for the assessment team to clearly understand the requirement. One thought from the team is consideration of simultaneous write to achieve backup of logfiles to different locations. If the desire is to get this on multiple servers, node replication would be recommended as a means by which that could be achieved. If these recommendations do not address your requirement, please respond with more details about what you are trying to achieve or problem you are asking the team to solve. If no response to this request for more information is not received within 30 days, the request will be closed.
