TSM backup client fails to restore directories that were "over quota" when the backup was performed

Novell NSS file system (on a SLES based server) has a feature called "directory quota". It is possible to set such a quota on a directory, such that the quota is lower than the amount of data currently stored within the directory. TSM will backup such directories without problems, but it can't restore them (fails with ANS4009E "disk full condition" even though the disk has ample space). It seems that the Backup/Archive client restores the quota setting BEFORE it tries to restore the directory contents. The problem could be easily avoided: first restore all the files and directories, THEN restore the quota settings.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

For those working in academia, directory quotas are a necessary evil. We do need to be able to restore data to over-quota directories too.
