TSM for Virtual Environments should support nested VMFolder structure

When doing the VMware Backup using TSM for Virtual Environments with the "VMFOLDER" option we backup only machines residing directly in that VMFOLDER. Many cutomers are using a nested folder concept (Folders inside a Folder). TSM for VE does not recognize these Sub Folders and therefore does not backup machines residing in the subfolders.

    Why did IBM decline this request? IBM should have accepted it.
    Refer to my PMR 79801,442,000:
    Problem title
    Nested Vmfolders
    .
    Problem description and business impact
    I was thinking of using VMFOLDER to select VMs. While trying to figure
    out the syntax for specifying a nested folder, the link (http://www-01.
    ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21432938) was brought to my
    attention. Consider these two folders:
    1. vc-un1.unch.unc.edu/UNCHCS/Non Production/Sentry
    2. vc-un1.unch.unc.edu/UNCHCS/Production/Sentry
    How do I specify folder 2 and not folder 1?

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
    Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
    Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

    We have considered this functionality, but at this time, we are not planning to make any more changes with respect to backups from nested folders.

    Thanks for submitting this enhancement request, while we believe that a lot of the need is addressed in an upcoming release of TSM we will plan to deliver on this requirement in a future release of TSM.
