Implement TSM BA Client to MS VSS Previous Version

Today when we implement TSM to new customers does we introduce the Web Client normally so a Windows/Unix admin can do the restore instead of the Backup Admin.

But we could make it even easier for a new customer and tell them that they don't need to do manual restores of files anymore.

By implement TSM BA Client to the Windows GUI and VSS Previous version, can the end-user do it own restores and not the Win/TSM Admin.

This could be a function that you as a Backup Admin need to enable on the client, because in few cases where you are using tape, then do you probably don't want uncontrolled restores that use all your tape drives.

But if you are using file/vtl pool then could this be a good function to make your life easier.

    Dear Development,
    I have take a look on our Windows Server 2012 installation and the function is still their.
    And I can only article from Microsoft that it will be removed on Windows 8 Client but not on Windows Server 2012.

    Thank you for submitting the request. Windows 8 removed this feature to get VSS Previous Version, interface of agent side will need to get the previous version from TSM and we need to follow up
    on how to upgrade the web client to make it easier for end users to use it for restore. There are no committed plans to address this,
    but it's consistent with our future directions.  IBM’s plans may change and no commitment is made that a solution will be provided.

    This would give me more time for my TSM servers, today i have aprox 10-15 restore cases everyday. It takes to much time.
