TSM Srv 6.2.3.0 for Windows x86_64
SrvName: DKS006_SERVER1
Problem:
The client complained the output of the "Restore Stg ...PREVIEW=YES"
command.
He expect like described in documentation a complete and simple list
of all volumes which are required for the restore. So he can go to
vault to get the neccessary tape media.
The command output he received are many messages naming one volume
every. The number of this messages is unknown and this messages
coming partially behind the process finishing message!
He must puzzle the list itself by searching in different ANR messages
for the process.
.
This was done with TSM Srv 6.2.3.0 for Windows, but I expect this is by
all versions.
the documentation "Restore Stg" says:
...
Preview
Specifies if you want to preview but not perform the restore. The
preview lets you identify volumes required to restore the storage
pool. The preview displays:
* A list of primary storage pool volumes that contain damaged files.
------
* The number of files and the number of bytes to be restored,
assuming that the access mode of the required copy storage pool
volumes is READWRITE or READONLY when the restore operation is
performed.
* A list of copy storage pool volumes containing files to be
------
restored. These volumes must be mounted if you perform the restore.
* A list of any volumes containing files that cannot be restored.
------
sample says:
