This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Additional info from technical team on this issue:
There has been talk of implementing a secondary backup completion time stamp for "less complete" file level backup methods such as snapdiff, jbb, and incremental by date. The secondary time stamp would be set when the "less complete" backup completed (and possibly there would be an indication of what the backup type was) and the current backup completion time stamp would only be updated when a full progressive incremental backup completed. This would be helpful in determining when the last "less complete" backup completed and the amount of time since a full progressive incremental complete (this can be important information when deploying JBB and snapdiff). Of course this would require a work item and would entail client and server changes.
Thank you for submitting the request. This is a recognized requirement and a solution appears to be desirable. This request is not in a committed release plan for next year,
but the theme is aligned with our multi-year strategy, and will be a candidate for our future release. IBM’s plans may change and no commitment is made that a solution will be provided.
