This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

It would be handy to have Q STGP display what is truely avaliable for use in a storage pool, rather than just what is utilised. If you run the command it will show you how much disk is currently in use, but unless you also look at Q VOL STGP=<Pool> you won't know that alot of your volumes are just above the reclaim threshold and thus still set as FULL. We recently ran into a problem where we had corrupt volumes that were not going back to empty. they were 0.0% used, but still FULL. this gave us the impression that we had free space when we ran q stgp and thus we allowed the server to get a little to full...caught it before it became a castasrophe, but just barely. If this feature were built into the Q STGP command it would be quickly seen and recognized as an issue with reclaim that needs to be addressed asap.
Now that I'm well aware of the issue I know to always check both Q STGP and Q VOL, but when I'm on vacation, or other new admins to TSM come on board either here, or at other customers this is a quick Gotcha that can get people into trouble.
By adding another colume with Pct Useable we could quickly see that while yes, the Pct Utilized is only 50%, the Pct Useable is 5%....and by doing this we can quickly see that we are truely out of space, regardless of what Pct Utlized says.
Thanks all.
