TSM4VE lack support for multiple vCenters, in an intuitive, easy and manageable way.

TSM4VE seems to lack support for multiple vCenters, in an intuitive, easy and manageable way. Competitive software, like Quest (formerly VizionCore) vRanger Pro and Veeam Backup & Replication does have stated support for multiple vCenters. It is now possible to connect to *only one* vCenter at a time (VMCHOST parameter). The problem is not the backup/restore between vCenters, but to connect to multiple vCenters simultaneously. Competing virtual machine backup products do support this more easily and through all GUI's.

We are continuing to track this request internally as it is still in alignment with our current directions and strategic plans and a known, popular request. We have provided more integrated supported for restore within the vSphere web client and looking to continue to build out and extend capabilities here. If you would like to meet with the architecture team to meet with your for direct input regarding use cases and designs, please make the request of your IBM representative who can arrange such a meeting.

Within dual-/twin datacenters it is extremely important that TSM4VE can connect to multiple vCenters. Please take the time to get this working!!!

Thank you for submitting the request. This is a recognized requirement and a solution appears to be desirable. This request is not in a committed release plan for next year,
but the theme is aligned with our multi-year strategy to manage VMWare environment much more easily. A few key features are planned in simplifying TSM4VE in 2012. IBM’s plans may change and no commitment is made that a solution will be provided.IBM’s plans may change and no commitment is made that a solution will be provided.
