I hope you are well!

I raise this PMR because it seems we are hitting - https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/IT25298 - IT25298: ANR0428W SESSION REFUSED - CLIENT IS DOWN-LEVEL WHEN SESSIONINITIATION SERVERONLY IS USED.

Short description:

Because of security requirements, we must not set sessioninitiation=clientorserver in a demilitarized zone. We would like to use

backendconfig - sessioninitiation=serveronly
clientconfig – sessioninitiation serveronly # We also use the dsmc sched as scheduler on the client.

We wanted to use

SSL Required: Default
Session Security: Strict
Transport Method: TLS 1.3

on the client nodes in the tsm backend.

But this is not working. We are getting messages likes this:
08.04.2025 11:11:09 ANR0428W Session 309949 for node SIND0003 (WinNT) refused - client is down-level with this server version.

Only this config works:

SSL Required: Default
Session Security: Transitional
Transport Method: (?)

But with this config, TLS security is not given.
