Support current versions of Storage Scale in the Storage Protect for Space management client for Linux. Currently this would be Scale 5.2.2.x and 5.2.3.x.

This would benefit all Storage Protect for Space management customers who are also Storage Scale System customers, or who use Storage Scale and want to run up to date versions of Scale.

The latest version of Storage Protect for Space management client is 8.1.27, released on 2025/06/20. The latest version of Spectrum Scale this supports is 5.2.0.1, released 2024/06/06.

According to "IBM Storage Scale Software Version Recommendation Preventive Service Planning", on September 30, Storage Scale 5.1.x and Storage Scale System 6.1.x goes End of Service. The lowest fully supported version of Scale System software then becomes ESS 6.2.1.0, which runs Scale 5.2.1.0. 

This means that from September 30, there will be no fully supported way of running space management if you are a Storage Scale System customer.

    IBM Spectrum Scale 5.2.1 and 5.2.2 is already qualified with IBM Storage Protect for Space Management, as follows: 

    • IBM Spectrum Scale 5.2.1 or later fix pack levels (Beginning with 8.1.24)
    • IBM Spectrum Scale 5.2.2 or later fix pack levels (Beginning with 8.1.25)

    IBM Spectrum Scale 5.2.3 will be qualified with future releases.
