AI Based Replication Window Recommendation to Avoid Load on IBM Storage Protect Server

There can be situations when source and target replication servers are not in sync. Causing delay in replication process to end.

May be because the specific window of replication used was not enough to replicate source data to target server. Or there was sudden increase in backup load and the amount of data to be replicated could exceed the set time frame.

PROPOSING, ML based recommendation notification to IBM Storage Protect Server Administrator Team.

This feature will learn its ML model trainings from :

  1. Active hour timings from all previous backups.
  2. Load on server for taking backup, in terms of size and time frame.
  3. All previous replication time frames and its stats whether it was successful or not and what was the size.
  4. Miscellaneous / etc.

This feature will calculate how much time will be required for next replication based on what data we have on server to replicate. And will give recommendation to select time frame to avoid load on server.

As an experienced Machine Learning professional, I believe selecting a few parameters to train a model and get recommendations is best way to start exploring into this.

This will be a great feature in product in storage domain.
