Multiple Storage Protect Server DB backup on one tape

Currently SP only supports storing  one internal DB backup per volume. If using tape (as recommended) e.g. LTO9 this results in using a 18 TB tape volume for storing only 100 GB database backup. Running 20 instance and doing 2 DB backup per day keep 7 days will lead to 20x2x7=280 tapes which are 5 PB wasted capacity. 

We would like to have the option to store multiple DB backup for each instance on one volume.

    As a follow-up of  "ISP/TSM Jour fixe 26.11.2025" --- link to this pages was posted there "for voting":

    "Multiple Storage Protect Server DB backup on one tape"   as a feature in the system will be highly appreciated !

    In the same moment the solution via  Virtual Volumes, presented by Bruno Friess, shall be possible also in the future.  There was kind of a rumor that required features for that track might be disappear, when the new feature shows up.

    This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.
