Glacier like Object Storage teiring in Tape. With compatibility with S3 API/Policies

A growing trend I ha e noticed in my domain is data ownership and residency. However, costs exponentially rise as data has grown due to a lack of understanding of what data is being stored (partially due o GDPR which protects against data being viewable). Further to this, management of multiple systems with deviating standards of integration make it difficult to administrate and operate in small teams. I propose that IBMs Storage protect product can act as a glacier level storage of cloud native/on-premise object storage solutions. Such that, a bucket can have a tiring policy between a warm tier storage solution and IBM Storage protect (as cold/glacier tier). I envision the solution to somewhat follow the S3 API specification and somewhat be compatible with S3 Policies (doing this would enable users who are familiar with AWS SDK, API's and the AWS Policy maker become quickly familiar with this feature, and enable smoother transition between public cloud to on-premise). To be clear, this is not to create a bucket stored in the warm storage of a Storage Protect system, but too allow bucket tiring to tape.
