Renaming MDF & LDF files during restore

Hello,

The renaming of source MDF and LDF files for MSSQL DB during restore operation is basic functionality of any backup/restore software. It provides effective way how to store and structuralize files of DB. Since restored DB is usually new DB with new name it make only sense that source file of that DB follow the name pattern of the new DB instead of storing as old DB.

Please provide a way how to do this as this is part of Storage protect software already for a more than a decade and belongs to category of standard.

Thanks.

IBM has evaluated the request, and has determined that it can not be implemented at this time. Our IBM Storage Defender Data Protect solution has this functionality available for this use case We will review this request and update it in the future or a new one may be submitted in 6 months.
