Storage Sentinel support for the Scanning Engine to run on IBM Power hardware.

For environments running SAP HANA on Power Linux, which is supported by Sentinel, there may not be x86_64 hardware in the environment for a Scanning Engine to be installed onto.  The Scanning Engine needs to be installed where it can access the storage being protected.  Adding support for the Scanning Engine to run on Power architecture will allow the Scanning engine to run within a Power heterogenous environment where hardware for the scanning engine would otherwise be unavailable.  The Copy Data Management server would still run in an external VMware environment, but would not be a problem, since it does not need SAN access to the storage, only management connectivity.

The team is aware of this request and is looking into it. This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.

This limitation would also affect customers with Epic and Oracle on Power workloads.

For one client making the request, their x86 and VMware environments are managed by separate teams and they have no SAN connectivity between environments.
