This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

I have an open PMR because I already have TSM with a tape based Disaster recovery solution because I have no networked second site to use as a DR capability. We are not Internet connected with these systems, which removes typical S3 DR solutions, and all Clud solutions.
If you require DR. Which should be ALL SPP+ customers, and you do not have a second site, tape based DR is still quite viable, but SPP+ has no native tape support. OSSM allows for tape based DR of the OSSM directory container, but "Repository server" configuration of TSM server is not supported for Catalog backup. Possibly because I believe Repository Server only supports glacier storage and SPP+ catalog backup will currently only backuup S3 "standard class".
If I configure "TSM server Object agent" with both a standard S3 and a Glacier S3 (standard pool and cold-data cache pool), and then Configure SPP+ to use it as "S3 Compatible storage" I can then backup the TSM database into the "S3 standard pool". This S3 Standard pool can be "protected to a tape storage pool (or two) and a copy sent off-site for DR along with the rest of TSM and its OSSM (Ossm is also protected to a tape based storage poor).
Currently TSM is not a supported as "S3 Compatible" in the Spectrum protect product (it works but is not listed in tech note 1087149) https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/1087149 . simply accepting Spectrum Protect Server running Object Agent as an acceptable S3 storage would enable this capability.
Either that, or allow repository server to backup to standard storage class OR to cold data pool. I need the callability to DR without network connectivity.
