This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

We are using Spectrum Product for Data Retention in a document centric application step, that serves access to contract statements over the web in an always on environment. Maintenance (major version or scheduled FP upgrade) is expected to be delivered on one, max two maintenance weekends per year
We recently faced few situations (e.g. security vulnerabilities that needed to be addressed with urgency) that required an Interim Fix to be applied. Due to current installation requirements, Spectrum Protect server needs to be stopped, which requires the products relying on Spectrum Protect to be stopped as well, causing a notable interruption of service to end users.
For interim fixes, we do not expect database schema changes or other fundamental changes to underlying technology that technically require the database to be offline. Therefore we hope IBM may consider allowing and documenting options to install ifix on a cluster's inactive nodes while retaining general Spectrum Protect availability during these tasks.
