Linux File Indexing without Root

We have not been able to expand use of SPP in our environment because Operating System Admins are unwilling to grant us accounts with root-level privileges.

Can we get a list of the commands that SPP uses that require root-level permissions? The thought is that the OS admins could allow accounts with more granular permissions.

Primarily we're concerned with Linux file indexing to allow individual file restores. We are also interested in the same information for Windows file indexing or File System protection, as well as adding Databases to SPP, particularly DB2.

    This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.
