BA Client Support for MAC based on Apple Silicon CPUs

We have many MAC-users with new Apple Silicon CPUs inside.

In client requirements https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apple-macintosh-client-requirements#Release%208.1

is noted "Apple silicon-based Macintosh, by using conversion mechanism Rosetta 2 is not supported. This web page will be updated with further details when support is available."

All new MACs are only Apple silicon-based, this leads to many migrating BACKUP to other applications. This can cause significant and not only economic damage to IBM. We observe, that migrating BACKUP on MAC away from Spectrum Protect leads often to chain reactions, other systems will migrate later away from Spectrum Protect to new solutions too.

This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.
