Spectrum Protect for VE - "Wrong" Platform Name for Node using SP BA Client on Datamover server

When we use Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environment to back VMWare Virtual Machines we have "Spectrum Protect for VE" and "Spectrum Protect BA client" installed on the same machine.

  1. To backup VMs we create Data Mover node name DATAMOVER_NAME . This node is/will be "VM Owner" of all my Virtual Machines backup with Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environment.

  2. To backup server data (not VMs) we use Spectrum Protect BA client with node name CLIENT_NAME.

So logically when we check Platform value of Node CLIENT_NAME we should have "WINNT" or "LINUX X86-64" depend on OS where Spectrum Protect BA client is install on it

But instead we have "TDP VMware" because client checks for the DP for VMware (or DP for Hyper-V) license. If the license is installed on the machine, then the node is labeled "TDP VMware", regardless of whether the node stores regular file backup data or VM backup data : works as design.

This "works as design" could cause confusing when we check nodes on Operations Center because node is seen as Application with labeled "TDP VMware" for Plaform instead to be seen as "System client" with labeled "WINNT" for example.
