Hi Team,
As a requirement for auditing we would like to have the server actlog show the file restore in detail and the tape volume it was restored.
At the moment we have to restore from the client using restore/pick option and screen shot to prove the file restored correctly.
The work around is to have the Tape volume vaulted and run the restore and capture the file name and tape volume requested.
The next procedure is to recall the tape Volume and restore as per normal.
Example:
Step 1
SELECT date_time,message FROM actlog WHERE date_time>=(current_timestamp-1 days) and (msgno=0565 or msgno=4035)
Step 2
Recall Tape Volume
Step 3
Restore and capture screenshot

Also, have you considered the REPORTRETRIEVE server option, this displays the names of files retrieved in the activity log. With this in mind, how does this relate to the request?
Hello, can you please provide more details? Please clarify if this is just additional information on the activity log messages to report file retrieve information with what tape it was read from? Or is this a restore planning request to know what volumes are needed for restore of a given file?
