The concept is that a TSM client would contact a TSM server and be told something akin to �you�re not registered here, but server xxxyyzzz at port 15##, has a client with that name. Go try logging in there.� It would simplify tremendously many of the organizational hassles of running a TSM shop with something like 40 TSM servers and thousands of clients. � There are lots of permutations of how this might be implemented (are there such things as temporary redirects? Does a client update its own dsm.opt after getting a non-temporary redirect?), but this would simplify our platform teams� lives a lot if we could implement this.
