fix column widths in dsmadmc interactive screen output

When using dsmadmc for SP management, the screen output quality looks often still like from previous century. Especcially number columns are often too narrow even when there is plenty of console width still available. This leads to wrapped numbers in narrow columns while lots of console width remains unused. Example: "query nodedata * volume=<volumename>". Same for simple things like "query volume" with volume names of FILE volumes which are wrapped even though plenty of console width remains unused.
Also, an option would be helpful to switch dsmadms output to a mode without thousand separators in big numbers so that mark/copy/paste for such numbers would be made useful.

    Please reconsider. The technical solution will not be difficult. No structural changes to SP or such. :-)

    Your "workaround" suggestions do not really help. I was not talking about script support where I do not see a problem.

    But I do (like probably many other SP admins) daily administration with dsmadmc because it is so much easier/quicker and more powerful than OC. But the CLI output needs to be updated to support more efficient use, such as with console copy&paste.

    IBM has evaluated the request, and has determined that it can not be implemented at this time or does not align with the current multi-year strategy. This request may be resubmitted for consideration after 18 months from the date of submission. The request submitter will automatically be notified by email when the request qualifies for reconsideration and resubmission.

    Consider using a SELECT statement or "-DISPLAYMode=LIST" or "-COMMA" or "-TAB".

    Have you tried using the -comma, or -tab output format?
    # dsmadmc -comma -id=admin -pa=secretpwd "q n f=d"
    Or
    # dsmadmc -tab -id=admin -pa=secretpwd "q n f=d"
