Policy based purge of defunct nodes and data

Today, if you need to purge a node from the environment because it has been retired or no longer needed, one waits for the data t age through its retention policy, then delete fi (of any active data remaining) and then remove node.

This process is manual, labor intensive, and prone to error.

A better method would be to add an value to the locked field in the nodes table. This value is perhaps "purge".

This value would then trigger an automatic expiration of data, purge of data and removal of node based upon the retention policies.

    This capability has now been delivered as decommission node now available through the TSM Operations Center v7.1.3.

    Thank you for submitting the request. This is a recognized requirement and a solution appears to be desirable and feasible.  IBM intends to provide a solution in the next major release.
    However, IBM’s plans may change and no commitment is made that a solution will be provided.
