SPP: NAT connection trough dedicated vLAN

SPP server has configured NAT with additional 3 network IP's. The same vLAN's are configured in the vSNAP server + proxy combo (IBM appliance).
During Backup/Restore operation SPP communicate with client with correct IP (different than managment). vSNAP server however use first available IP instead of specified vLAN he is suppose to use causing traffic going over firewall and thus damaging performance of operation and also causing unnecessary load on firewall.

Also Since I can not edit a comment.

This affects not just VM-SPP communication but also Filesystem restore/backup of Physical Windows Clients. Putting them into hosts would negate the idea of having self installed client as there would be manual configuration required for client anyway.

    Hello,

That requires manual update of all hosts for Proxy/vSNAP every time new host is added into configuration. The easier way would be to follow routing of appliance or host where proxy is installed.

    Thanks.

VADP always attempts to contact ESX for NBD traffic by discovered FQDN, so if ESX FQDN resolves to management IP, the traffic goes over that network. The workaround I've found is puting esx's FQDN into VADP proxy /etc/hosts file to resolve it to proper backup network address.

SPP should collect all IP addresses/networks of ESX hosts and present the choice of networks to use for NBD(SSL) traffic.

This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy.
