A new policy update from BA client .optfile that does not allow overwrite a management class from BA client.

A server admin can update the .optfile from BA client by human error causing an overwrite of a management class at Spectrum Protect server, that is causing unexpected expiration of backups. For example, a configuration mistake pointing the .optfile to the wrong management class in Spectrum Protect server. If this occurs, the backup should fail and create an alert and error msg that there is a change made in .optfile, and to continue the backup, there need to be an approval from another admin before new backup can run.

    This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.

    I think this already exists?

    try creating a client optionset on the server, and add the force=yes which should override client settings

    DEFINE CLOPT myclopt
    DEFINE CLIENTO myclopt INCLEXCL ‘include /…/* mymgmtclass’ FORCE=Y
    UPDATE NODE mynode CLOPT=myclopt

    not sure if this resolve the issues?
