Regarding TS004537647. That is correct that there's no issue with finishing the daily work in a timely matter. There are some tunables to reduce the frequency of queries or stop them altogether. One of the background threads that is the busiest is for the STATUS MONITOR, which populates data used by the operation center. By default, the refresh interval is every 5 minutes, it can be increased, the higher the value, the more stale the data is in the Operation Center. If they don't use the Operation Center at all, they can disable the STATUS MONITOR which will stop all the background thread responsible for a large portion of the queries run in the background.

It was suggested in discussions with James Damgar about this last year, that with an RFE the SP OC team could try to see if the quantity of database work could be reduced.

    IBM has evaluated the request, and has determined that it can not be implemented at this time or does not align with the current multi-year strategy. This request may be resubmitted for consideration after 18 months from the date of submission.
