Support of 6G SAS interface

When a tape library device is connected to a 6G SAS HBA on a Solaris machine with a SAS I/F, devices (changer, drive) are not authenticated (created) on the Solaris system.
The environment is as follows:
- TSM Server V5.x or V6.x / Solaris 10
- Library device: Fujitsu ETERNUS LT40(FibreCAT TX24)
- Tape device: HP drive device (HP Ultrium 5-SCSI)
- SAS HBA card: LSI's 6GB SAS card
- SAS HBA driver: SUNWmptsas (mpt_sas driver) * Solaris standards
- Tape Driver: TSM Device Driver

When connected to 3G SAS HBA, devices can properly be created.

Since 6G SAS HBA is expected to be the mainstream in future years and the number of its users to be increased, urgent support is requested.

Thank you for submitting the request. Tivoli Storage Manager agrees with the request and a solution appears to be a desirable objective.
There are currently no  plans to provide requested function.  No IBM commitment is made or implies as to the
eventual delivery of an acceptable solution.
