Support for ROCE Tape drives in ISP

Hello,

If ISP would support ROCE tape drives like TS1155/TS1160 this would deliver following advantages:
- ISP could run in a VM and support Tape which is currently not possible with FC Tape drives due to Fibrechannel limitations.
- ROCE attached tape drives performance would probably be less effected by long distances between the ISP server and the Tape drives as compared to FC Tape drives
- For customers not willing to invest in FC Infrastructure this could be an option to still use Tape and reap the benefits of tape as true offline and cost effective storage.

    This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.

    It would be nice to have this technology also for LTO.

    We support this request as we considerably scaled back our FC infrastructure which is today required for tape only. Instead of phasing out tape too we'd very much appreciate an option to use ISP with ROCE attached tape drives.
