This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Since IBM Spectrum Protect Backup-Archive Client 8.1.7 or 7.1.8.5, the Nodes/NODENAME/spclicert.kdb file has been introduced.
The spclicert.kdb file has an expiration date of one year. When the dsmc command is executed for the first time after the expiration date has passed, the expiration date is automatically extended by one year. At this time, the dsmc command returns RC=12, even though the dsmc command was successful. ANS1579E will also be recorded.
We use the dsmc command to run the daily backup process, and when the dsmc command returns RC=12, we know that the daily backup process itself has failed. And it happens every year. I think this is a problem for many users.
Is there any way to prevent the dsmc command from returning RC=12 when the expiration date has been successfully updated automatically?
Please take a look at TS007031110.
