Much better documentation of the SPP REST API for container backup (OpenShift) is urgently needed

The official reference to the REST API (https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/SSNQFQ_10.1.8/pdf/RestApiRef_v1018.pdf) only deals with two of the basic functions for starting an inventory search and an ad hoc backup with regard to OpenShift, if all other steps have already been carried out via the WebGUI.

None of the other API functions that are or could be of importance in the OpenShift environment are described in the reference.

The RedBook 5532 "IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Practical Guidance for Deployment, Configuration and Usage" says in chapter 16 on the REST API that you can use the Developer Tools in your browser to trace the actions carried out via the WebGUI in SPP to find out by trying "reverse engineering" how the API works.

Until now this really seems to be the only way to find out what the API offers and how various calls have to be executed. Which other API calls can be used to find the parameters required for the generation of a restore job, for example, cannot be found out at all and the use of the REST API is purely a trial and error until something works.

That can't be meant seriously! We assume that a REST API serving as the basis of the WebGUI must or at least should be properly documented somewhere.

The built-in API reference in earlier versions of Spectrum Protect Plus in the form of the "Swagger UI Tool" (https://community.ibm.com/community/user/storage/blogs/archive-user/2020/07/06 / spectrum-protect-plus-rest-api-basics-how-to-get-started) is in SPP 10.1.8. - for whatever reason - apparently no longer included.

In order to use the REST API, we urgently need a detailed description of the functions made available with regard to OpenShift Backup / Restore, as well as all required parameters and the expected return values.

The existing REST API reference should be comprehensively revised - especially for the container backup area - and expanded to include all functions used by the SPP GUI
