IBM has evaluated the request, and has determined that it can not be implemented at this time or does not align with the current multi-year strategy. This request may be resubmitted for consideration after 18 months from the date of submission. The request submitter will automatically be notified by email when the request qualifies for reconsideration and resubmission.

This is a problem with the restore manifested in Db2.

    Development recommends leveraging named pipes.

This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.

Do you have StorageAgent involved in this setup?
As shared memory communications is involved when a client has the capability to send or receive data to either a server that are running on the same host, or via lan free agent.

Another idea is to use SPFS, where one can communicate and protect almost any type of data via a directory path
Spfs is a filesystem built and design for IBM Spectrum Protect, where one can mount this as either a drive letter, UNC path or a mount point
All file operations that goes via this directory are translated directly to spectrum protect API calls, so nothing is cached locally
Easy to browse data, easy to backup and restore data.
Retention management is controlled centrally from the Spectrum Protect server

    Regards Tomas
